Water Pollution – The Problem of Our Century

Water Pollution is the contamination of water in lakes, oceans, rivers and groundwater. All contamination affects each one of the organisms and plants that live in these water bodies and also biological communities. Usually, water contamination is started by the discharge of harmful constituents without adequate treatment.
Nowadays, millions of people all over the world suffer from the lack access of drinking water and 14.000 people die every day because of Polluted Water.
For these reasons, is urgent to act over this problem, and start contributing for the wellness of the world and its habitants.
Ways to Fight Polluted Water
There are many ways to fight water pollution, and pressing Governments is one of them. Although, if you want to act more actively perhaps start doing something at your home is a good idea.
Here are some ideas to fight Polluted Water
* Conserve water by turning off the tap when running water is not necessary.
* Don’t throw paints, oils or other forms of litter down the drain.
* Use environmentally household products, such as washing powder, household cleaning agents and toiletries.
* Take great care not to overuse pesticides and fertilizers.
* By having more plants in your garden you are preventing fertilizer, pesticides and contaminated water from running off into nearby water sources.
* Don’t throw litter into rivers, lakes or oceans.
